Bo Nix leads all rookie quarterbacks in passing attempts and completions heading into Week 10. He has the second-most passing yards in the group. Nix also has the second highest completion percentage of the three rookies with at least 100 passing attempts. The Denver Broncos rookie also has the second-best record among the group.Earlier in the season, Nix was the Broncos’ leading rusher. He has also done a decent job of protecting the football, with two interceptions from Weeks 3 to 9.
Nix’s performance and developing relationship with No. 1 wide receiver Courtland Sutton sent a strong message to the latter. It was a reaction to Nix’s touchdown reception from Sutton in Week 9’s loss to the Ravens.
“You are HIM,” Sutton wrote on Instagram on November 5.
Courtland Sutton is a Big Bo Nix Supporter.
“I was excited to see that we were going to be able to work with him,” Sutton stated on the “DNVR Broncos Podcast” in June. “He excels at a variety of tasks on the field. And I’m excited to be able to work with him because he has that leader mindset, that aura that he exudes.
“Just based on what I saw at Oregon, watching him carry and lead his team, and seeing how those guys followed him. I think it revealed a lot about who he is and how he conducts himself.”
Sutton also received Nix’s first touchdown throw, which he commemorated.
“1st of many,” Sutton wrote in the caption of a still photo of the duo following the score on his Instagram story on September 29.
“It was cool to be able to share that moment with Bo,” Sutton told NFL Network’s Mike Garofolo on September 29. “It’s his first of many. The man will be a great player in this league for a long time. And being able to share a piece of history with him is very nice.
“After I caught the touchdown, the first thing I wanted to do was give him the ball. I wanted to make sure the ball didn’t go anywhere. And I’m delighted he got it, and we were able to win.”
