GOOD NEWS: Pittsburgh Steelers Wide Receiver Joins Loins

The Detroit Lions announced on Friday that they had added wide receiver Allen Robinson, formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, to their active roster. Following the preseason, Robinson was added to Detroit’s practice squad, and now that he has spent a few weeks there and gotten to know the system, he is being promoted.

He will be added to the active roster of the squad among players like Jameson Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Tim Patrick. For the Lions, Robinson will provide depth and a large outside body that can play in the slot.
In 2023, Robinson was the starting slot wide receiver for the Steelers. With the Steelers, he caught 34 passes for 280 yards. For a large portion of the season, Robinson was employed more as a blocker by Pittsburgh than as a receiver, which contributed to some of his lowest career figures.

Robinson was promoted and made his Lions debut last week against the Arizona Cardinals. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, Steelers, New York Giants, and now the Lions are among the teams Robinson has played for during his career. After the preseason, Robinson was cut by the Giants, which made room for the Lions to sign him.
