Romeo Doubs, a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, is eligible to play this coming Sunday at home against the Arizona Cardinals after receiving a suspension during the team’s game against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5. Doubs was suspended by Green Bay for actions that were detrimental to the club, but the Packers are now moving past that as they try to maintain their momentum.
Packers wide receiver Christian Watson told reporters on Wednesday that he understands the situation surrounding Doubs’ return from suspension, but he also expressed his belief that everything would work out in the end.
“I think two days isn’t gonna ruin the three years of work and commitment he’s put in for us,” said Watson, who was drafted to the Packers with Doubs in 2022. “It’ll definitely be a little weird right away just because it was a pretty significant situation for him, but I mean, he’s Rome to us. I think it’ll blow by pretty quick and we’ll all be right back to how we were … There will probably be a few bumps in the road trying to get that togetherness and that family feeling back, but at the end of the day, he’s back in the building and I know that his goal is also to win a football game this week.”
It is hoped that Doubs will be able to help the Packers offence now that he appears to be back. But if he doesn’t have enough looks downfield, it could also be difficult for him to be content. Maybe Doubs can see more touches, starting with the Cardinals game, now that Jordan Love is back to full health and the Packers are reverting to a pass-heavy lineup.
Doubs has made four appearances this season and has 169 receiving yards on just 12 catches and 20 targets.
