The Phoenix Suns, led by Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal, maintain that they have no plans to part ways with any of their core players. However, a league insider thinks that is all a façade and that they would discuss deals with other teams this summer.
The Suns this season were disappointing despite possessing a three-headed scoring monster. Despite being forgiven for their lack of success in the 2023 NBA Playoffs following their late-season trade for Durant, their 49-33 record in 2023–24 and elimination in the first round did not reflect well on the team.
The front office’s ability to bolster the roster around their Big Thee is severely constrained by the fact that they are carrying three extremely pricey stars.
Because of this, there has been conjecture for months that the trio may shortly split up. Nonetheless, the group has publicly stated that Durant, Booker, and Beal are not leaving.
NBA expert Ian Begley, however, said that the Suns executive office’s recent remarks may just be talk and that they may speak with other teams about moving future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant during an SNY essay that made early offseason predictions.
Begley stated, “The Suns and Warriors will hold at least preliminary discussions on a trade that would return Durant to Golden State.” The Suns’ public statements all point to them using their big three of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal to come back.
However, something is wrong there. Thus, I believe that Phoenix will at the very least have a conversation informally with clubs on a possible Durant deal.
Since the Warriors made overtures for a Lebron James trade throughout the season and appear to be looking for a third star with Klay Thompson probably going on this summer, there has been a lot of conjecture about a Durant reunion in Golden State.
As a member of the Warriors, Durant helped the team to three consecutive NBA Finals and two titles.
