Seven-Time World Champion- Lewis Hamilton Reveals He Wanted To Leave Mercedes Early After A Torrid..

Lewis Hamilton has opened up about his frustrations following a challenging Sao Paulo Grand Prix, admitting he briefly considered leaving Mercedes earlier than planned. The seven-time world champion, who is set to join Ferrari next season, expressed his emotions over team radio after the race, sparking speculation with remarks suggesting it might be his “last time” driving for the Silver Arrows.

Hamilton later elaborated in an interview, telling Sky Sports he could “happily go and take a holiday,” reflecting the toll of a difficult season. Mercedes initially downplayed the remarks, attributing them to the emotional departure of certain team members who wouldn’t be present for the final races of the season.

However, speaking in Las Vegas ahead of the next Grand Prix, Hamilton acknowledged that, in the heat of the moment, he felt ready to end his 12-year tenure with Mercedes. “In that moment, I was frustrated and thinking about everything we’ve been through this year,” Hamilton admitted, emphasizing the challenges the team has faced in remaining competitive against the dominant Red Bull team.

Despite the struggles, Hamilton’s upcoming move to Ferrari marks a significant shift in his career as he seeks a fresh challenge with the iconic Scuderia. Meanwhile, Mercedes is preparing to recalibrate for a future without the driver who delivered six of their constructors’ championships during a dominant era.
