HUGE SET-BACK: New York Knicks ‘Front Office’ Reveals Plans Of Reuniting With Veteran Forward And Former Carmelo Anthony Trade Piece. As Knicks Lose Key Bench Piece To Serious Shoulder Injury, Set To Be Out For Most Of The Season…SEE MORE…

Off-court actions of professional athletes rarely impact their free agency or trade prospects. However, when a 16-year NBA veteran and former New York Knicks draft pick buys a home in New York, it raises eyebrows. Danilo Gallinari, a key figure in the 2011 trade that brought Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks, has returned to the city. Speculation is growing that he might rejoin the Knicks.

According to Jennifer Gould of the *New York Post*, Gallinari recently purchased a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home in Brooklyn’s One Williamsburg Wharf. This move has fueled rumors of him potentially signing a training camp deal with the team that originally selected him as the sixth overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft.

Meanwhile, the Knicks hosted the Charlotte Hornets at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, securing a 111-105 victory to improve their preseason record to 4-0. However, the win came with a setback as Landry Shamet sustained an injury during the game. Shamet, who signed with the Knicks this offseason, contributed eight points and two rebounds in 20 minutes before exiting. Head coach Tom Thibodeau had no update on Shamet’s condition after the game.

Shamet, drafted 26th overall in 2018, is coming off a season with the Washington Wizards, where he averaged 7.1 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists across 46 games. The 27-year-old has played for several teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, and Wizards.

Over his six-season career, he has averaged 8.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 38.4% from three-point range in 348 games.
