The news focused on Tom Brady. However, Richard Seymour also received a place at the table. Seymour’s attempt to buy a portion of the Raiders was also approved on Tuesday, according to Tashan Reed of TheAthletic.com.

On Twitter, Seymour expressed his gratitude, humility, and honour at being an NFL owner. “I embrace this as the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with pride and purpose. tremendous chance with a tremendous deal of responsibility. Furthermore, I promise to treat our game and everything it makes possible with honour.

In contrast to Brady, Seymour was a member of the Raiders and played for four seasons in Oakland following his Patriots trade.

As was revealed over the weekend, Seymour’s bid was formerly attached to Brady’s before becoming unattached. Seymour’s attempt to acquire a minority ownership position in the Raiders was not much publicized, particularly in contrast to Brady’s more sensationalized proposal. As Seymour does not work as a game analyst for an NFL broadcast partner, he is not subject to the same restrictions as Brady.
