The Denver Broncos are bolstering their injury-hit offensive line through free agency.
With starting right tackle Mike McGlinchey, his backup Alex Palczewski, and versatile lineman Quinn Bailey all dealing with injuries, the Broncos have decided to bring back a familiar face.
“Per source, Broncos are reuniting with 11-year veteran OT Cam Fleming on their practice squad,” 9News’ Mike Klis reported on X on October 8. “Fleming started 20 games over the past three seasons for the Broncos. Broncos center Luke Wattenberg and RT Alex Palczewski left Sunday’s game vs. Raiders with ankle injuries and didn’t return.”
Fleming previously earned Pro Football Focus grades of 71.7 in 2021 and 72.6 in 2022 and made 15 starts last season. “Fleming worked out for the Broncos last Thursday and is signing to the practice squad today. His depth is invaluable as the O-line is dealing with injuries. LT Garett Bolles also missed four plays Sunday due to a lower-leg injury but returned to the game,” Klis added in a follow-up.
“Matt Peart filled in at RT and LT,” he noted.
In addition to Fleming, the Broncos signed former Chicago Bears and Houston Texans interior offensive lineman Dieter Eiselen to their practice squad, as reported by KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson on October 8. Alex Forsyth is expected to start in Week 7 if Wattenberg remains sidelined.
The Broncos also addressed their receiving corps by signing former Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions wide receiver Kaden Davis to the practice squad. “Kaden Davis is signing back to the Broncos’ practice squad,” Wilson reported. This marks Davis’ fourth time signing with Denver’s practice squad.
Davis originally joined the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and has bounced between the practice squads and active rosters of the Cardinals and Lions in 2023 and 2024. He re-signed with Denver in September.
Davis began his college career at Butler Community College, where he had 21 receptions for 245 yards and 1 touchdown. He later transferred to Northwest Missouri State, posting 55 receptions for 971 yards and 11 touchdowns, including a 44-714-10 line in his final season. Despite his time in the NFL, Davis has yet to play in a regular-season game.
