With the Minor League Baseball season wrapped up, it’s time to recognize standout prospects from 2024, particularly those from the Boston Red Sox. Baseball America named outfielder Roman Anthony, infielder Kristian Campbell, and outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia to its All-Star teams.
Anthony rebounded from a slow start to finish the season with impressive stats between Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester, boasting a .291 average, 18 home runs, and an OPS of .894, earning the top prospect ranking after Junior Caminero’s graduation.
Campbell made waves by posting a .330 average and 20 home runs across three levels, positioning himself for a potential starting role in 2025. Garcia, who impressed in High-A Greenville with 16 home runs, moved to Double-A and remains an intriguing talent despite Boston’s crowded outfield.
In other news, the Red Sox announced that All-Star third baseman Rafael Devers will miss the rest of the season due to shoulder inflammation, leading to the call-up of infielder Mickey Gasper. Devers, who struggled with injuries throughout 2024, ended the season with a .272 average, 28 home runs, and 83 RBIs.
He expressed disappointment but remained focused on recovering for 2025, confirming no surgery is needed. The Red Sox will finish their season with a series against the Toronto Blue Jays.
