A key to Tomlin’s success is his emphasis on coaching players to maintain a tough mindset in any situation. This approach was evident in his comments following a recent training camp practice.
“It’s crucial that we don’t just coast to the end of anything—be it a play, a drive, a half, a game, or training camp,” Tomlin said. “We aim to finish everything with an exclamation point. I appreciated the spirit and energy the team showed today.”
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports that the Atlanta Falcons are finalizing a trade with the New England Patriots to acquire edge rusher Matthew Judon.
Judon, 31, has been negotiating a contract extension with the Patriots throughout the summer without reaching an agreement. As a result, New England will trade him to Atlanta in exchange for a 2025 third-round NFL Draft pick.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Judon brings with him 66.5 sacks, 369 tackles, 87 tackles for loss, nine forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.
In their Week 1 matchup at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Steelers will face the Falcons, setting up an intriguing clash between Judon and Pittsburgh’s anticipated starting right tackle, first-round rookie Troy Fautanu.
