Penrith Panthers $300 million Stadium Approved. Set to increase capacity to..

The Penrith Stadium redevelopment has taken a major step forward, as the NSW Department of Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has granted planning approval. This clears the path for awarding contracts and starting construction.

The $300 million project, funded by the NSW Government, will expand the stadium’s seating capacity from 22,500 to 25,000, with a new western grandstand and extensive upgrades to the eastern grandstand. The revamped venue will also be able to accommodate an additional 5,000 attendees for concerts.

Key improvements include upgraded player facilities, a focus on enhanced amenities for female athletes, and the addition of four new change rooms and significantly increased women’s restroom facilities. The redevelopment will also feature more food and beverage outlets.

The project includes plans to revamp the training field west of the stadium, transforming it into a landscaped open space for community, sporting, and entertainment events. The aim is to establish the stadium as a top-tier entertainment venue while creating a family-friendly recreation area.

NSW Sport Minister Steve Kamper hailed the redevelopment, calling it a “huge win” for both the local community and visitors to Western Sydney.
