The gloves worn by Washington Commanders receiver Noah Brown to catch a game-winning Hail Mary touchdown against the Chicago Bears are now on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
During the dramatic final play on October 27 in Washington, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels scrambled for 13 seconds before launching a 64-yard pass. The ball was deflected by Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, who had been distracted by fans at the start of the play, and ultimately fell into Brown’s hands, securing an 18-15 victory for the Commanders.
Brown’s gloves, along with a pylon signed by both him and Daniels, have been added to the Hall’s Pro Football Today Gallery, as announced in a statement on Thursday.
Daniels’ Historic Hail Mary
The Hail Mary pass earned Daniels a spot in the record books, as he became just the second rookie quarterback since 1970 to throw a game-winning touchdown of 50 or more yards as time expired, joining Tim Couch, who achieved the feat in 1999 with the Cleveland Browns. Daniels is also only the seventh quarterback in NFL history to pull off such a pass, and the first since 2018.
Additionally, the Hall of Fame display now includes the football from Daniels’ pass to Terry McLaurin, which clinched the Commanders’ 38-33 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on “Monday Night Football” in Week 3. That pass set a single-game rookie completion record of 91.3%.
### Giants Hit with Fines After Loss to Commanders
The New York Giants endured another tough loss to their divisional rivals, the Commanders, in Week 9. Following the game, two Giants players were fined, as noted on the NFL’s gameday accountability page on November 9. According to NorthJersey.com reporter Art Stapleton, linebacker Micah McFadden was fined $5,966 for an unpenalized hip-drop tackle, while defensive lineman D.J. Davidson was fined $5,964 for a facemask infraction late in the fourth quarter. In total, the Giants were hit with $11,930 in fines.
The NFL has intensified its crackdown on hip-drop tackles this season, sometimes issuing fines post-game even if no penalty was called on the field. This was the case for McFadden, while Davidson’s facemask penalty drew additional scrutiny from the league.
Commanders’ Armstrong Fined for Hit on Daniel Jones
Meanwhile, Commanders defensive end Dorance Armstrong received a heftier fine than both Giants players combined. He was penalized $16,883 for a roughing the passer penalty involving a hit to the head/neck area of Giants quarterback Daniel Jones during the third quarter. This fine was also confirmed by NFL Football Operations.
While the fines may offer some consolation to Daniel Jones, they come after yet another disappointing loss for the Giants, marking their seventh defeat of the season.
