HUGE ACHIEVEMENT: Detroit Lions Quarterback Jared Goff Is Set To Make Another NFL Record. As The Star QB And Fans Favorite Opens Up About Being Traded To Detroit Lions…

The Detroit Lions entered the season with high hopes after reaching the NFC Championship Game last year, and they have a 7-1 record through their first eight games. Jared Goff, their quarterback, has played a significant role in their success. Goff has rejuvenated his career with the Lions, and he has continued to perform at an exceptional level for them this season.

While his stats aren’t very impressive, he’s passed for 1,840 yards and 14 touchdowns, allowing Detroit’s offence to move across the field with ease. Perhaps the most astounding metric on Goff’s stat sheet this season is his completion percentage, which is now at 74.9 percent.

While Goff still has nine games to play, if that holds true, he will have the highest single-season completion % of any quarterback in NFL history. There have only been 21 cases in which a quarterback ended the season with a completion percentage greater than 70%, so simply doing that would be noteworthy.

However, it appears that Goff intends to shatter the record, and if he continues to play at this extraordinarily high level, he may succeed. Former New Orleans Saints great Drew Brees now holds the record, with a completion percentage of 74.4 in 2018.

Brees is also in the following two spots on that list, completing 74.3 percent of his throws in 2019 and 72 percent in 2017. Goff has pushed things to the next level, completing more than 80% of his throws in four of his previous five games, giving him a legitimate chance to beat Brees’ record if he can keep it up. Goff will have a chance to increase his completion % when he faces the Houston Texans in Week 10.
