After the Phoenix Suns’ overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in their preseason finale, a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) stirred up controversy. The post, which has accumulated over 12 million views, alleged that Devin Booker was caught on camera trash-talking Bronny James. The clip showed James missing a free throw, followed by a shot of Booker speaking to a teammate. The post claimed Booker said, “he’s just no good,” referring to LeBron James’ son, Bronny.
However, Booker quickly debunked the rumor, replying directly to the post on X with, “50k of yall need help.”
This isn’t the first time social media has falsely accused an NBA player of making negative comments about Bronny James. During Summer League, a similar incident involved Celtics forward Jaylen Brown, who was wrongly accused of questioning Bronny’s NBA potential—another rumor that was proven false.
Booker firmly rejected the claims after many believed he had made derogatory remarks about Bronny James’ missed free throw during the game. The allegations came from an X user who posted a video suggesting Booker was criticizing the Lakers rookie, labeling him as “just no good.” The post gained traction, reaching 10.9 million views and over 50,000 likes, much to Booker’s dismay. In response, Booker reposted the clip and denied the accusation, telling those who believed it, “50k of yall need help.”
