Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, one of the front-runners for the Heisman Trophy this season, will probably play in the NFL the following season. Where is he planning to play, then?
He mentioned the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs as a couple of the teams he might see himself playing for during a recent live stream. However, one squad in particular stood out: the Dallas Cowboys.
“I’m not saying they’re not a good fit, I’m not saying that at all,” Jeanty replied. “I played in their practice stadium; I’m from Frisco. A hometown hero would be me.”
About 45 minutes north of AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Jeanty attended Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas, where he played high school football.
Jeanty has carried the ball 126 times this season for Boise State, a national leader in 1,248 yards and 17 touchdowns. In addition, he has nine receptions for 39 yards and one touchdown.
Together with guys like Travis Hunter of Colorado, who just made an argument for why he should win the Heisman Trophy over Jeanty, the star’s chances of winning the trophy are only getting better.
