The Commanders have won five of their first seven games thanks to Daniels’ excellent play, which is remarkable for a team that underwent a major makeover in the winter.

Daniels unfortunately sustained a rib injury in Week 7 against the Carolina Panthers.

Marcus Mariota, a seasoned backup, entered the game and scored two touchdown passes to help the Commanders win handily.

Mariota might see more playing time in the future because Daniels’ injury is reportedly considered to be “week-to-week,” according to Commanders head coach Dan Quinn.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Quinn stated, “We’re hopeful he could play (in Week 8).”

The fact that Daniels was spared a serious injury that would have required him to miss a substantial amount of time is wonderful news for the Commanders.

In Week 8, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft may or may not be available for a crucial matchup with the Chicago Bears and No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams.

Daniels had probably marked this game on his calendar because it would give him the chance to establish himself as the top quarterback in this year’s draft class.
