As the Dodgers terminated the season of the Mets and secured a position in the World Series, fans streamed out of Dodger Stadium to celebrate the win of another National League pennant.
After the win, there was instant jubilation throughout the region. At a junction in East Los Angeles, fans gathered, shooting off fireworks and waving Dodgers flags while some automobiles pulled off burnouts and donut antics.
Following the game, people waited in line to purchase World Series and NLCS merchandise at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Pasadena.
The Dodgers’ victory was celebrated in downtown with a blue light display at City Hall.
In the World Series, the Dodgers will now take on the New York Yankees. The historic teams will square off in the World Series for the 12th time, and for the first time in 43 years.
Dodgers star Mookie Betts stated, “It’s kind of what the people wanted, what we all wanted.” “It’s going to be a battle of two good teams, a lot of long flights across the country.”
Tickets for Dodger Stadium’s Game 1 of the World Series are going for over $1,000 on the secondary market as of Sunday night.
