JUST-IN: Rams Head Coach Sean McVay Shares a Message Regarding Darious Williams

According to Sarah Barshop of ESPN, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay stated on Friday that he anticipates cornerback Darious Williams to play against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

Williams, who started the 2024 NFL season on the injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, will make his debut. Williams’ practice window was opened by the Rams earlier this week, and on Thursday he participated fully in drills.

Is the return of DB Darious Williams enough to fix the Rams ...

Williams is playing in his first game back with the Rams since the summer. After spending two years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Williams signed a three-year contract to return to the Rams in March. Williams was a member of the Rams from 2018 to 2021, when they defeated the Cincinnati Bengals in Los Angeles in Super Bowl LVI.

Williams had 53 total tackles, two forced fumbles, four interceptions, and 19 pass deflections in the previous campaign. Williams recorded 130 total tackles during his first stint with the Rams, along with two fumble recoveries, six interceptions, and 27 pass deflections.

Williams will try to improve a defence that allows the second-fewest total yards per game. Safety John Johnson III, who suffered a hairline fracture to his scapula during their Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, is currently on injured reserve, meaning he is not available for the secondary.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Explains Legacy He Wants to Leave at Ohio ...

The Rams’ primary area of concern has been run defence, as they rank lowest in the NFL with 165.5 yards allowed per game after four weeks of play. However, they have also had trouble covering receivers such as Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jauan Jennings.

Cooper Kupp, a wide receiver for the Rams who McVay stated earlier in the week would not be able to play this week, would not be available against the Packers. Demarcus Robinson, a receiver, participated fully in practice on Thursday. This week, Robinson had to contend with a hip ailment.

Additionally, the Packers are struggling with a number of ailments, including those to wide receivers Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson. For Sunday’s game, Doubs and Watson are both classified as doubtful. Doubs is attending to a personal problem, and Watson is suffering from an ankle sprain.
