Raiders receiver Davante Adams is scheduled to earn $983,333 in salary per week in addition to $30,000 for each game he plays in. If he is traded, a team may have trouble meeting their cap when it comes to Adams’ remaining pay. Furthermore, the incoming team may feel that it cannot afford to pay the remaining debt. Consequently, there are others who think that the Raiders may have to pay a portion of the money to make the transaction possible.
The Raiders would be better positioned to receive trade compensation as a result. The new club may be more ready to forfeit a superior package of selections and/or players if the old team pays less.
The future comes next. In 2025, Adams won’t receive $35.64 million from anyone. From a practical standpoint, the transaction will become a part-year rental until a new agreement is reached once Adams enters the building. That will affect the amount of value that the new team is prepared to give up.
It is not a first. Teams basically buy draft selections with cash and cap space. In an attempt to develop their roster into a contender, the Raiders will receive better selections if they contribute a portion of the money.
