The Dallas Cowboys, who had some time off after their victory against the New York Giants last Thursday night, officially started a new work week on Wednesday.
Sadly, Dallas paid a price for the victory as DeMarcus Lawrence hurt his foot and Micah Parsons sprained his high ankle. The former is expected to miss the game at least this week, while the latter will be sidelined for a considerable amount of time after being placed on injured reserve. In case you missed it, the Cowboys acquired a new pass rusher in K.J. Henry, who was plucked from the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the Cowboys’ injury problems are over. ESPN’s Todd Archer reported on Wednesday morning that wide receiver Brandin Cooks would miss further games, possibly including Sunday’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It seems that Cooks had surgery after the Giants victory, which resulted in an infection in his right knee.
We sincerely hope that Brandin Cooks is feeling well and gets back to normal health as soon as possible because this is a terrible event for him.
The Cowboys are currently in areas that no organization wants to be in when it comes to football operations. As it was, they were already lacking enough suitable offensive playmakers in addition to CeeDee Lamb. Since Cooks is out for the time being, we can presume that rookie Ryan Flournoy will be elevated, if nothing else, and join a group that is still extremely raw overall, which includes Jalen Tolbert, Jalen Brooks, and KaVontae Turpin.
This information will probably fuel rumours that Dallas is interested in dealing for wide receiver Davante Adams, a player they were reportedly linked to on Wednesday morning. However, some reports claim that the Cowboys have no interest in Adams.
