It was surprising that the Cleveland Browns had a 1-3 record after their first four games. However, it is difficult to win games and produce points when you are unable to move the ball offensively.
This season, Cleveland’s offence has been a complete mess at every position, but wide receiver is one of the worst. Except for their Week Three defeat to the New York Giants, starting wide receiver Amari Cooper has been awful in every game and shows little desire to perform for the club.
Due to the team’s certain elimination from the playoffs, Cooper has been linked to a trade, and the Kansas City Chiefs have been touted as a potential destination due to Cooper’s injuries at the position.
The standout wide receiver Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders is another player that might be dealt soon; Cleveland is considering a trade for him.
For the previous seven years, Adams has been among the NFL’s best receivers; yet, as he approaches his 32nd birthday this winter, his play has begun to deteriorate.
Adams is being sought after by the Raiders for at least a second-round selection; should the Browns agree to the trade, they would have to forfeit a draft pick that they would desperately need this summer.
Cleveland has one of the oldest rosters in the NFL, therefore it will be disastrous to add another aging wide receiver to a squad that is here to stay.
Since the Raiders had already defeated the Browns last week and have won two games this season, Adams will thus have no desire to be in Cleveland in the first place.
