Tight end Trey McBride has been officially ruled out of the Arizona Cardinals’ Week 4 game against the Washington Commanders due to a concussion.
After being placed in concussion protocol following a collision with Detroit Lions defensive back Brian Branch in the fourth quarter of Arizona’s Week 3 loss to the Lions, which ended in a 20–13 loss, McBride did not train during the whole week.
Arizona (1-2) will be heavily dependent on rookie Tip Reiman and backup tight end Elijah Higgins in McBride’s absence.
After declaring McBride ineligible on Friday morning, head coach Jonathan Gannon remarked of the tight ends, “That’s a strong room, a really good room.” “With Trey gone, their roles—all three of them—will shift slightly. But I feel really secure and at ease.
The defensive lineman Khyiris Tonga has been sidelined for the whole week due to a knee injury he sustained against Detroit. Justin Jones, the starting defensive tackle for Arizona, tore his triceps during the game, so earlier this week, the team placed him on injured reserve.
The health of two offensive lineman for the Cardinals, Isaiah Adams (thumb) and Kelvin Bachum (hamstring), is in doubt. Beachum missed the game against the Lions due to a hamstring ailment, while Adams was added to the report after being limited in practice today. In order to replace Beachum at right tackle in the starting lineup, the Cardinals promoted offensive tackles Charlie Heck and Jackson Barton from the practice squad last week.
Marvin Harrison Jr. (quad), Budda Baker (quad), Dennis Gardeck (finger), and Dante Stills (shoulder) are all cleared to play after being placed off the injury report.
Earlier this week, Washington (2-1) had already ruled out Austin Ekeler (concussion) and Clelin Ferrell (knee). It is now also stated that Jamison Crowder (calf) is out. There are no Commanders players in uncertainty or controversy for Sunday.
Ninety minutes prior to start on Sunday, at 1:05 p.m. MST, the official inactives report will be made public.
