Broncos Roster Moves: Denver Broncos Host 2-Time Super Bowl Champion For Tryout, Amid Mike McGlinchey’s Knee Injury. As Top NFL Insider Calls Out HC Sean Payton Over Bo Nix 0-2 Start…SEE MORE…

Injuries are mounting for the Denver Broncos, forcing the team to make roster adjustments.

Tillman stepped in for Mike McGlinchey, who is on injured reserve due to a knee injury. The Broncos have several internal candidates to fill McGlinchey’s spot and are monitoring others, including Cameron Fleming.

The Commanders drafted Fleming in 2014, and he has also played for the Cowboys and Giants. He signed a series of one-year contracts with the Broncos, earning $2.5 million in 2023.

On the active roster, the Broncos have Alex Palczewski, Frank Crum, and Matt Peart. They lost reserve tackle Quinn Bailey to a season-ending ankle injury during practice in July.

Cameron Fleming is one of two offensive linemen visiting the Broncos. Daniels was picked in the fourth round in 2023 but was waived by Washington after training camp and claimed by Houston, only to be cut on September 17. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein described Daniels as an active, athletic lineman with room for development, though he noted areas for improvement in his blocking techniques.

Currently, the Broncos are 0-2 and face the 2-0 Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3. The Buccaneers’ defensive strategies could pose a significant challenge, especially with the Broncos’ offensive line struggling prior to McGlinchey’s injury.

Quarterback Nix hasn’t performed well, but head coach Sean Payton shares some responsibility. The Denver Post’s Troy Renck pointed out that Nix has averaged an excessive number of dropbacks, which is tough for a rookie.

Renck highlighted the Broncos’ lopsided run-pass ratios, suggesting that if he had known Payton would focus heavily on the passing game, he would have preferred starting Jarrett Stidham to face the early season’s challenging opponents. The Broncos rank fifth in passing attempts but 25th in rushing, a strategy that doesn’t align with Payton’s stated goals for the season.
