STEELERS ROASTER MOVES: Steelers Activate Dean Lowry Places DT on IR. With Head Coach Giving Statement On Rookie Troy Fautanu Injury Update After Preseason Scare. As Steelers Make Several Roster Moves After First…SEE MORE…

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made several roster changes, including placing defensive tackle Bredie Fehoko on Injured Reserve, according to NFL.com. They also waived linebacker Easton Gibbs just days after signing him.

Gibbs, an undrafted free agent from Wyoming, was brought in following the release of linebacker Tyler Murray. However, after the Steelers’ preseason opener against the Houston Texans, the team decided to move on from him.

Fehoko, a veteran nose tackle, injured his shoulder during practice and did not return to the game. Following the preseason opener, the team decided to shut him down for the rest of the season.

Fehoko might be released with an injury settlement, but given his past role on the practice squad and recent activation due to Cam Heyward’s injury, the team could opt to keep him on the roster throughout the season.

To fill Fehoko’s spot, the Steelers signed defensive tackle Marquiss Spencer and linebacker Luquay Washington. Both players worked out with the team during the summer but were not signed at that time.

Washington will take over for Gibbs. The undrafted free agent from Central Connecticut State stands 6 feet tall and weighs 232 pounds. With Cole Holcomb still absent and a potential special teams spot open depending on Mark Robinson’s performance, the team typically keeps five linebackers during the regular season.

Spencer will take on the role of nose tackle. With Fehoko sidelined, rookie Logan Lee has been serving as the third nose tackle. Lee, though a natural defensive tackle, may be slightly undersized for the nose position. Spencer has a chance to demonstrate why he should at least be considered for the practice squad to add depth.
