Tennessee football has bolstered its 2025 recruiting class with the addition of four-star linebacker Christian Gass. Ranked as the No. 85 player and the No. 6 linebacker in the 2025 class by On3 Recruiting, Gass hails from Covington, Georgia.
Gass chose Tennessee over several SEC competitors, including Georgia, USC, Kentucky, and Florida. He emphasized that the Vols’ coaching staff has been consistently genuine and supportive throughout his recruitment process.
“Tennessee has been authentic with me from the start,” Gass told On3. “When it came time to make my decision, it was crucial to me to choose a program that showed me real affection. Tennessee was always there for me. Coach Ek (Mike Ekeler), Coach William Inge, and the rest of the Tennessee staff made me a priority and consistently demonstrated my importance to them.”
Tennessee football has been making significant strides in recruiting this summer, and their success appears poised to continue as July draws to a close. The Vols have secured eight commitments since early June and could add several more to their 2025 class before the season begins at the end of August. On Sunday, four-star quarterback commit George MacIntyre hinted at a forthcoming surprise commitment, which might be connected to the recent developments on social media.
Tennessee has also received several expert forecasts suggesting that they might persuade four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame, currently committed to Oregon, to switch his commitment to the Vols. This includes predictions from On3 Sports’ Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal, Steve Wiltfong.
Brame, ranked as the No. 4 tight end and No. 101 overall player in the 2025 class by On3 Sports, was a significant target for Tennessee before choosing Oregon. The Vols were the close second choice in his recruitment. Securing Brame’s commitment would represent another major victory for Tennessee, which seems to be on a roll in recruiting. The Vols are also expected to land additional high-profile commitments soon, with several players showing strong interest in joining the program.
Additionally, Tennessee has garnered several expert predictions to sway current Oregon commit and four-star tight end DaSaahn Brame to join the Vols. On3 Sports’ Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal, Steve Wiltfong, is among those predicting this shift. Brame, ranked as the No. 4 tight end and No. 101 overall player in the 2025 class by On3 Sports, was initially a major target for Tennessee before committing to Oregon, with the Vols being the close second choice.
