Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant is currently participating in Team USA’s training camp in Las Vegas, aiming to contribute to his country’s quest for a Gold Medal in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris. Despite the Suns facing challenges this season, Durant, now entering his age 36 season in 2024-25, continues to be recognized as one of the top players in the league.
While basketball fans often view players like Durant and LeBron James as almost invincible on the court, it turns out that even these elite athletes can be affected by certain distractions. One such distraction, it seems, is the presence of various celebrities at Durant’s games, whom the star admits he notices from time to time.
“I wouldn’t say I get distracted, but I do sometimes notice them,” Durant commented on celebrities attending his games. “Especially if there are attractive people in the stands for sure.”
Durant specifically mentioned one celebrity who has shown a strong interest in NBA games.
“When Rihanna shows up, it’s a challenge. She’s definitely one of the attractive ones,” Durant remarked.
Durant and Rihanna had a memorable interaction during the 2017 NBA Finals, where Rihanna attended Game 1 of the series between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, seemingly rooting for LeBron James and the Cavs. Durant’s glance towards the stands following a successful jumper that night was interpreted by some as directed at Rihanna. However, any past rivalry appears to be in good spirits now between the two.
