HUGE SIGN: LA Lakers Finally Secures The Signing Of Point Guard, Gary Trent Jr To A $185 Million Contract…SEE MORE…

The Los Angeles Lakers are gearing up for an active trade deadline after a turbulent first half of the season, aiming to make significant roster changes and acquire players who align with their objectives.

Several names have surfaced as potential targets for the 17-time NBA champions, including Jerami Grant and Ben Simmons.

However, the Lakers are now focusing their attention on a player from the Toronto Raptors to strengthen their lineup. Gary Trent Jr. has emerged as a viable option for the Lakers, although acquiring him would likely involve sending two players to Toronto, according to reports from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The Lakers’ pursuit of Trent Jr. may face challenges due to their limited assets to entice the Raptors. Trent Jr. thrived last season after being traded by the Portland Trail Blazers to the Raptors’ temporary home in Tampa Bay, showcasing significant improvement and establishing himself as a dependable two-way player for the Canadian franchise.

While the Lakers are known for making bold moves, it appears uncertain whether the Raptors would be willing to engage in such a trade.

Trent Jr. currently averages 16.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game this season, shooting 42.1% from the field and connecting on 37% of his three-point attempts.
