Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff extended an offer to one of Louisiana’s top cornerbacks after Aidan Anding of Ruston, Louisiana received a call on Friday night.
Anding, ranked as the No. 3 cornerback in Louisiana, has been on LSU’s radar recently, particularly with recruiting expert Frank Wilson leading the outreach efforts.
Concerns have arisen about the defensive back talent in LSU’s 2025 recruiting class, especially after losing a commitment from Jaboree Antoine, the state’s top cornerback, earlier in the week. In response, LSU moved quickly to offer Anding a scholarship, though questions remain about the timing of their pursuit.
Anding, standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 160 pounds, had been expected to announce his college decision this weekend but is now postponing his commitment date, according to sources close to LSU Country.
A multi-sport standout who has earned All-State honors in football, basketball, and track, Anding has garnered significant interest from LSU, which is now competing intensely with another SEC program.
Texas Longhorns appeared to have momentum heading into the weekend under Steve Sarkisian’s leadership, but LSU has intensified its recruitment efforts, potentially shifting the dynamic in their favor.
While LSU has yet to secure a commitment from a cornerback, they are optimistic about their chances with Anding and Antoine in the coming weeks. The Tigers are aiming to host Anding for a visit this summer and are anticipated to be favored once the recruitment dust settles. Despite losing Antoine’s commitment, LSU is determined to strengthen their secondary in the upcoming months under Brian Kelly’s leadership. The focus is on securing commitments from top prospects like Anding and Antoine before the Early Signing Period in December.
