Who would have guessed? The Kansas City Chiefs and Taylor Swift are now synonymous. Or perhaps it’s the other way around—however you view it.
The romance between Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Swift merged two of the most influential worlds in recent times: the NFL and pop culture. Kelce recently shared what drew him to the 14-time Grammy award winner.
“She’s very self-aware. She handles situations like that well, and I think that’s why I started to really fall for her—how genuine she is around friends and family,” Kelce revealed on the ‘Bussin with the Boys’ podcast. “With so much attention, it can be overwhelming for someone, but she remains so relaxed and composed, and I really admire that.”
Kelce recently joined Swift onstage during her world tour. He dressed in a tuxedo and carried her while she performed at Wembley Stadium in London.
“The first game she came to was against the Bears, and I said, ‘Sure, I can probably set everything up for you.’ But she just walked right in through the front door,” he recalled. “She was like, ‘I want to be around your family and friends and experience this with everyone.’ That scored major points with me. I thought, ‘Wow, she’s diving right into the madness. She wants to be involved and support me.’ That really won me over.”
Despite the attention they receive, Kelce acknowledges the importance of keeping certain moments private but doesn’t shy away from expressing his affection for his girlfriend. “While you want to keep some things private, I’m not hiding anything,” Kelce affirmed. “She’s my girl, you know? She’s my lady, and I’m proud of that. I’m not trying to figure out how to keep it low-key.”
