BYU football boasts a longstanding tradition of family ties within its program, with the Doman name holding significant prominence.
This legacy recently expanded as Jackson Doman, a tight end recruit for the class of 2025, committed to Kalani Sitake’s team following an official visit to campus last week.
Expressing gratitude for his journey, Doman wrote on X, “I am honored to join the BYU legacy after an amazing OV to BYU.” Standing tall at 6-foot-6 and weighing 215 pounds, Doman initially caught BYU’s attention last summer when he earned TE MVP honors at a campus camp. His recruitment gained momentum after BYU appointed Kevin Gilbride as tight ends coach.
Jackson Doman is the son of Scott Doman, and his family’s ties to BYU football run deep. Notably, his uncle Sam Doman played quarterback for BYU during the early Bronco Mendenhall era.
In his commitment announcement on X, Jackson listed multiple family members who have been athletes at Brigham Young University, including former starting quarterback and assistant coach Brandon Doman.
Hailing from Canby, Oregon, Jackson Doman is highly regarded in the 247Sports Composite as Oregon’s third-best prospect for 2025. He chose BYU over offers from Colorado State, Oregon State, Washington, UNLV, and Nevada. Doman joins Blake Bryce from Newbury Park, California, and Tucker Kelleher from Georgia as the third tight end commitment in BYU’s 2025 recruiting class.
