The LSU Tigers have recently lost a commitment from Jaboree Antoine, a highly regarded defensive back from New Iberia, Louisiana. According to Eli Lederman of ESPN, Antoine, previously committed to LSU, has decided to withdraw his commitment. Antoine, ranked as the No. 6 cornerback in the 2025 class, hails from Westgate High School, where he excelled not only as a cornerback but also as a quarterback.
Following official visits to Miami and Florida State, Antoine chose to reopen his recruitment. Standing at 6-foot-1, he is now considering these two schools along with LSU. Before his decommitment, Antoine was among the top prospects in LSU’s upcoming recruiting class.
Antoine, known for his versatility on the field, played both cornerback and quarterback at Westgate High. His recent visits to Miami and Florida State seem to have influenced his decision to step away from LSU. Looking ahead, Antoine has indicated that his focus is now on these two schools as potential landing spots moving forward.
LSU football has now experienced a second instance of a top-tier recruit from the 2025 class withdrawing their commitment from the program. Dakorien Moore, a five-star wide receiver, initially chose LSU but decided to decommit last May. Moore is now expected to choose between the Oregon Ducks, Texas Longhorns, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Before committing to LSU football initially, Antoine had received offers from numerous prestigious programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, among others.
Despite Antoine’s recent decision, LSU still maintains a strong 2025 recruiting class. Currently ranked eighth by 247 Sports, LSU football’s 2025 class includes 12 commitments, featuring two five-star prospects and nine four-star recruits.
