The Minnesota Vikings have yet to win a Super Bowl in their 64-year history, with an 0-4 record in the championship game.
Their last Super Bowl appearance was in the 1976 season, and they have made just one playoff appearance in the past four years. One current starter for the Vikings is aiming to end both droughts.
“I expect to reach a Super Bowl,” Camryn Bynum stated on “The Insiders” on June 20. “I know everyone says that, and everyone should say that. But when you look at the guys on the team, the locker room, and the wealth of experience we have, it’s clear. We have incredible depth, particularly on defense. There are so many talented players that it’s almost overwhelming. Even on offense, every position is filled with top-notch players across the board.”
The Vikings faced challenges in the latter half of the 2023 season due to Kirk Cousins’ absence, and he subsequently departed for the Atlanta Falcons during this offseason’s free agency. In his absence, Sam Darnold, acquired as a free agent, holds the starting position heading into training camp over rookie first-round pick J.J. McCarthy.
“It’s an exciting year with so many new faces on offense and defense,” Bynum remarked. “Having two new quarterbacks, it’s enjoyable to compete against them. Seeing what they bring to the team, both are performing well. It’s thrilling to watch their competition, and I can’t favor one over the other. They both seem prepared, and I trust the coaches to make the right decision.”
