Jason La Canfora faced severe backlash on social media on Tuesday night after implying that Aaron Judge’s injury from being hit by a pitch during the Orioles-Yankees game was a form of cosmic retribution.
Judge had to exit the game in the bottom of the fourth inning after being struck on the hand in the third inning. Initially, he continued to play but was later substituted by Trent Grisham.
La Canfora suggested on social media that the injury to Aaron Judge might have been related to Juan Soto’s baserunning error in the first inning. He commented, “If Aaron Judge is hurt, he should have a serious conversation with his outfielder about his baserunning. He’s been pinch hit for now. Oh well. They say karma’s a b****.”
Jason La Canfora criticized Juan Soto after Baltimore third baseman Jordan Westburg exited the game due to left hip discomfort following a collision with Soto in the first inning. La Canfora wrote, “Juan Soto manages to make contact with a lot of fielders. He’s pretty reckless that way. Maybe someone needs to throw 99 right in his ribs, soon.”He continued, “If Soto gets through this series without some significant bruising, the Orioles are doing it wrong. His questionable behavior on the basepaths is getting people hurt. It’s time for him to experience some pain too.”
