It sounds like the Razorbacks are gearing up with a revamped coaching and support staff as summer workouts get underway.
The new additions include Bruiser Flint as a special assistant to the head coach, Chris Woolard as general manager, Lunetha Pryor as chief of staff, Kevin Butty as video coordinator, and Kevin Gallagher as assistant video coordinator. They join previously announced staff members Kenny Payne, Chin Coleman, Chuck Martin, and Brad Calipari.
Arkansas is working with a roster primarily made up of nine scholarship players, most of whom are transfers. Coach Calipari has expressed a preference for a compact roster of eight or nine players, with possibly a 10th player who understands and accepts their role within the team. This strategic approach could provide stability and cohesion as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Bruiser Flint, who is now part of the coaching staff under Calipari at Arkansas, has a significant coaching background. He served as John Calipari’s successor at the University of Massachusetts after being on Calipari’s staff for seven years.
Flint then went on to coach the UMass Minutemen for five seasons. Following his tenure at UMass, Flint served as the head coach at Drexel University for 15 seasons from 2001 to 2016. His coaching experience at both UMass and Drexel provides him with a wealth of knowledge and expertise that he brings to his role as a special assistant to the head coach at Arkansas.
