MIAMI HURRICANES LATEST: Miami Football Trends, In Good Position With Four-Star Chaminade-Madonna Lions Cornerback Commitment Date Set For June 27.

Prior to his June 27 pledge, On3 reports that four-star cornerback Chris Ewald is moving toward the Miami football program. Before announcing his decision, Ewald will make formal trips to Miami and Georgia, according to reports on Thursday night from Tom Loy of 247Sports and Gaby Urrutia of Inside the U.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Ewald is the 168th prospect, the 21st CB, and the 24th player in Florida for the 2025 class.

Ewald is scheduled to travel to Georgia on June 21 and Miami on the weekend of June 14. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Miami has an 86.4 percent chance of receiving an Ewald commitment.

For Ewald, there are no 247Sports crystal balls logged. Ewald de-committed from Michigan nearly six months after he had committed there in January, after Jim Harbaugh left to take a head coaching job with the Los Angeles Chargers.

According to 247Sports, Ewald was supposed to visit Penn State and Louisville, but those trips don’t seem to have happened.

Ewald has racked up 100 tackles, one tackle for loss, seven interceptions, and 32 passes defensed in his three years at Chaminade-Madonna (all of which came in the previous two years, according to Max Preps).

Miami presently has six commitments through 2025. Elijah Melendez, a four-star linebacker, is the sole defensive player committed to Miami in 2025.
