LONGHORNS DAILY NEWS: Georgia’s Kirby Smart: Texas Entering The SEC Will Be “Very Difficult”. Views The Texas Longhorns As A Threat Ahead Of The Program’s Joining The Southeastern Conference

Kirby Smart, the head coach of Georgia, certainly lives up to his last name.

Before the program joins the Southeastern Conference later this summer along with regional rival Oklahoma, Smart recently acknowledged that, despite winning two of the last three College Football Playoffs, he sees the Texas Longhorns as a threat.

The fact that they’re at our conference, according to Smart, is really difficult, according to On3. “They’re not as close. They are a formidable football squad. They can hire in a fantastic state.
Smart went on to say that Oklahoma is in the same situation.

“They have excellent coaching staffs on both ends,” Smart remarked. Both Sark and Brent [Venables] have experience playing in the Southeastern Conference; Brent played for Clemson in the ACC and has a long history of playing for SEC schools.

They are both aware of the environment they are entering, which we believe improves our conference. The brand is available further west.
