LONGHORNS NEWS: 4 Star RB Takes A Stab At Oklahoma Following His Commitment To Texas Football, As He Is Already Fired Up For The Red River Rivalry.

James Simon, a four-star running back, committed to the Texas football team on Wednesday. Simon is the 10th running back the Longhorns have committed to from the 2025 recruiting class. He is the second running back to do so.

Texas has signed three three-star players, seven four-star players, and zero five-star players thus far. Currently ranked 13th in the nation, their 2025 recruiting class has plenty of chance to improve as we are still early in the cycle.

Hayes Fawcett tweeted, “BREAKING: Four-Star RB James Simon has Committed to Texas, he tells me for @on3recruits.” “Shreveport, Louisiana’s 6’0, 197-pound running back picked the Longhorns over LSU and Notre Dame.”

James Simon is pumped for the Red River Rivalry, and this is a huge win for Texas football. With his promise, Simon took a jab at the Sooners, who are disliked by the Longhorns for their football program, Oklahoma.
Simon declared, “SEC takeover sucks to be a Sooner HOOK EM.”

This season, Texas and Oklahoma will both join the SEC, which is why Simon made the SEC comment. This is just one of several significant changes that will occur in the college football landscape.

The Pac-12 is going away entirely, while the Big Ten, ACC, Big 12, and SEC will all look very different in the upcoming season due to conference restructuring. The Longhorns and Sooners’ decision to join the SEC is significant.
