BRONCOS UPDATE: Former Auburn Starting Quarterbacks Facing Off For A Starting Position For Broncos.

Jarrett Stidham was replaced as Auburn’s starting quarterback by Bo Nix. Nix was selected by the Denver Broncos on April 25th, at the 12th pick, and the two are now teammates in the NFL.

Stidham remarked, “I guess I’ve known Bo since he was 16 or whatever it was, 17 years old.” We have a long history together. I’m well familiar with him and his family. Back when he was officially visiting Auburn, I hosted him. Bo and I go back a long way.

At Auburn, Stidham and Nix were never teammates.

On August 31, 2019, Nix gave wide receiver Seth Williams a 26-yard touchdown pass with nine seconds remaining to lead Auburn to a 27-21 victory over Oregon in their subsequent game.

A year before to Nix, Stidham arrived in Denver. As the Broncos were getting ready to cut nine-time Pro Bowler Russell Wilson, he signed as a free agency during the previous summer and started the final two games of the 2023 campaign.

Denver acquired quarterback Zach Wilson from the New York Jets in April following that action in March. Wilson, the No. 2 overall choice in the 2021 NFL Draft, has started 33 games in the last three seasons for the Jets.

It has been enjoyable, Stidham said. “Having two new men in the room has been exciting. It’s been interesting and fun for me to be the vet in this situation for the first time. This is an enterprise. I am aware of how things work here. We will nevertheless continue to compete because it has been enjoyable.
